The Aftermarket - Unique Gifts for the Discerning Cyclist

The Aftermarket is a shop window for independent makers of bespoke products associated with the fine pursuit of cycling.

The marketplace features some great, little-known brands. None of the products listed could be termed mass produced. Here's some of my favourites, starting with Katie’s bike chain cufflinks (above) created from used chains, which are collected, cleaned, polished and re-purposed.

One of the niches the The Aftermarket fills is for small run t-shirt prints, the best of which are produced by Cycology in Australia. The creative force behind these prints is an artist & designer who would rather be a full time athlete - but due to lack of talent, balance & the inability to keeping the rubber side down... stuck to her day job.

We all know part of the fun of cycling is having a midway break at a cafe for a cuppa and a bit of cake, but where do you put your money or card while you’re riding, then your coins after you’ve had that piece of cake? The Cake Stop Caddy from Velo Culture solves that problem, it has a slot for your bank card or notes, then on the other side a Velcro pouch to pop your change into. There’s also room for a door key.
