Titanium Fixie
A double-butted titanium 3Al-2.5V alloy tubeset from Reynolds demonstrates extreme fatigue and corrosion resistance - ideal properties for a year-round urban cruiser. It's light-weight yet extremely strong, with an optimal elastic modulus for absorbing bumps in cracked-up city roads.
The geometry sits between the familiar road bike and a classic track set-up. We borrow a slightly steeper headtube angle and smaller BB drop from the track for agile handling, but keep the road bike headtube height and chainstay length for a longer wheel-base, retained stability and more comfortable position.
Frame and fork allow tyre clearance of up to 28mm width because bigger tyres roll fast and can take on rough streets, grass shortcuts, tow-paths and back alleys. For safety in the city the frame features braze-ons for both front and back rim brakes should you choose to run a freewheel.
Like all GOSFORTH bike frames, the styling is minimal brushed metal with smooth welds and bead blasted logos. A time-honoured horizontal top tube and Chris King No Threadset completes the look of this heirloom worthy frameset.
